The organising committee's site gives the dates as 15 to 25 January 2027 and says Changchun and Jilin co-host the games. It lists twelve winter sports competitions and two para sports events, and names the games the 33rd World University Winter Games.
FISU, the international university sport federation, lists the event in its calendar with the same dates. It reported on 8 October 2026 that the torch flame had been lit in Torino and would tour universities in Jilin Province before the opening ceremony on 15 January 2027.
